Floating on the victory cloud director Vamsikrishna Akella said, "I approached RGV through Subbaraju to do the script work. After the script work for 'Phoonk' is completed, I was asked to direct the same subject in Telugu. Hero Jagapatibabu was impressed with the story when I narrated it to him. Later, he accepted to work for the film on the pretext that, the two sequences which are supposed to create uneasiness to the child should be eliminated. Thus, the story hit the floors. I convey my sincere thanks to all the audience who made it a success."
